  I decided to sell soem scrap gold and unwanted misc pieces of jewelry. I found the staff to be rude, there prices low and when I asked why they wanted my ss # was told to give them a number, any number, that they needed it for there pawn license. Well any store that suggests I give them a made up # will not get my business. I retrieved my items and left. Stat!

  So today, June 20, 2017 I stopped at Youngs Jewelers because I live in Englewood & have seen the commercials on TV. They claim they treat you like family. Yeah right... The sign on the door says they close @ 5:00 pm, the "OPEN" sign was lit. It was 4:40 & the doors were locked. The guy held up his finger signaling for me to hold on. When he opened the door I told him all that I needed was a watch battery, to which his reply was " Oh, too late for that" & shut the door. So, what? If I wanted to purchase a diamond or something expensive, he would have let me in? I Will NEVER EVER use them for ANYTHING.

  I wasn't going to write this review, because it was last year when I experienced this but I brought in an antique ring with 2 diamonds in it, one of which had fallen out. It was my grandmothers ring so about 80 years old.....I felt very uncomfortable leaving it with anyone but new to the area I went to Youngs. The wife helped me, she tested the diamonds with a tool showing they were real, commented on the uniqueness of the cuts of the stones. It took over 3 weeks to repair which was terrible, he was at a show or something so out of town. When I came to pick it up, Mr Young helped me and ruched me in and out which made me really weary of the whole thing. Never checked with the tool on the way out to assure me of the real diamond thing. My point is now I have a problem with that stone fitting in the prong setting and have been told that the diamond is a "rough cut mined stone". Whatever that means. i know that my diamond was called a Cowboy Cut diamond that is rare to find. I have no proof of diamond switching and no way to prove otherwise. Just warning people to know what you have, ie appraisals pictures or whatever before going to any jeweler to have repairs done.

  about a month ago i went in there to sell some gold.and larry profiled me as a theif because i was a young adult. he was VERY rude and would not help me..i would not recommend this store...if you want to sell any old scrap gold go to Ambassador gold..they are very nice to you and do not profile you...!! like mommas boy
